He was initially employed by John Laing Design Associates as a land surveyor for 17 years, and gained considerable experience of all fields of construction. After a short time working in the Geographical Information sector, he established his own land surveying practice in 1993 undertaking topographic surveys, measured building surveys, commercial property area measurement, and boundary dispute resolution.

More recently he became a boundary dispute resolution specialist and expert witness undertaking consultations at site, comprehensive site surveys, court-compliant reports as per the Civil Procedure Rules, and has testified in court.

As a professional Charter Land Surveyor, Martin's firm is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. This certifies that he is fully qualified, fully insured, has a compliant complaint handling policy, and undertakes lifelong learning and Continuing Professional Development.

COVID-19 Virus Health & Safety Strategy

As the COVID-19 outbreak unfolds, we know that our current and prospective clients will have concerns about how we best conduct our business during this challenging time. At the heart of everything we do is delivering confidence in the public interest, so our priority is to work hard to maintain this for this unprecedented period.

As the virus develops and mutates, working practices will be adjusted in line with all government guidance.

As an RICS regulated firm, this strategy is based on the RICS document Guidance for Professionals and especially on the section Guidance on Client Visits and Inspections. The COVID-19 virus is having an impact on RICS professionals and regulated firms whose work involves direct contact with clients and customers.

This strategy will include:

  • Where possible, complete the work without a site visit, such as for some Land Registry compliant plans.
  • Where a site visit or site survey is necessary, maintaining the correct guidance and practice.
  • Where possible, staying outdoors for the entire visit, and not enter any buildings.
  • Martin is fully vaccinated with all three jabs.
